<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">On Friday, 6th March, a service for the World Day of Prayer was held in the Chapel of the Misericord. We were Catholics and Protestants, men and women, of many nationalities, conscious that we were part of a ring of prayer running around the earth from dawn to dark, over every continent and most nations. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">The service was prepared by women of Zimbabwe, who bear the brunt of the poverty and political upheaval of their country. They struggle to educate and bring up their children and feed their family; they suffer sexual and sexist discrimination and physical violence. But their story is one of hope and a celebration of their faith in God. We were proud to share it with them.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">A highlight in the Christmas season: we were invited by RC Bishop Jean-Claude, along with the different Church traditions present in Caen, to receive together the Peacelight brought from Bethlehem by the International Scout movement.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Yvonnic, our reader in training, represented us and was invited to present the Anglican tradition through a typically used representation of the Cross.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Then the Peacelight was shared to the Scouts and their families and friends in packed St Jean church (Caen city centre). </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">It has been announced that Bishop Jean-Claude Boulanger is now to retire. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">We are deeply grateful for his unfailing ecumenical pastoral action in his Diocese, allowing us to worship in the Chapelle de la Miséricorde and considering us as friends and partners in the Church of Jesus Christ. </span></div>
