Carol Service 2012

St George's Choir rehearsing while the Caen Chaplaincy team prepare La Miséricorde chapel for welcoming the crowd that usually gathers on this traditional Christian event in Caen

Many people arrive early (some more than half an hour before time!)
as it is known that the chapel will hardly sit everybody

We were honoured to welcome Bishop David
who presided the Service along with Fr Matthew.
Some of our local priests were here too: Fr John Hughes and Fr Robert Lloyd-Richards (to the right on the photo) who regularly give their time to serve our community

Next to Bishop David are Fr Pavy who represented RC Bishop Jean-Claude Boullanger and the RC Chaplain of La Miséricorde who serves the community of the Sisters of La Miséricorde who kindly welcome us in their chapel

It is a real pleasure for me to be once more at the Carol Service in our Chaplaincy. The singing is , as ever , wonderful and begins the Christmas season for me ; This year I had the privilege of bringing along my grandchildren so that they can get to know some of our English traditions. It was great to see a lot of little ones there all behaving impeccably!
