Ecumenical Service
On Sunday 20th, we joined the Ecumenical Service held in Caen Protestant Temple.
Attendance was important despite poor weather conditions that prevented some of our members from joining. Fr Matthew was sorry to have to stay in Paris which was unusually covered with snow. He had missionned Yvonnic, one of our Congregational Service Leaders, to read the Prayer of Intercessions for him.
We were fraternally welcomed by Thierry Fabian, the lay leader of Caen Protestant Community, who presided the Service.
Seated in the first row, you can see the representatives of the local Chistian Churches (from left to right): RC Bishop Jean-Claude Boullanger, Pastor Joseph Pierre for the Evangelical Church, Fr Argouet and Fr Fotache for the Orthodox Church, Yvonnic for our Anglican Community and Pastor Olivier Maire for the Adventist Church.

Bishop Jean-Claude Boullanger whose zeal for Ecumenism is well known and much appreciated gave a remarkable address.
We were kindly offered
hot drinks and biscuits at the end of the Service, which was the
occasion for many friendly discussions. It was suggested that such
Services should be held more frequently than just once a year as many
people were obviously moved realising how good and simple it is to join
and pray our Unique Lord together.
