This is a nice Church story, and very meaningful too:
the "Aumônerie des Etudiants" (RC Students Chaplaincy) has been very active in order to finance the travel of a group of more than 50 of them along with Bishop Jean-Claude Boulanger to participate in the World Youth Days which are to take place in Brazil in July.
It so happened that David, one of the students, contacted one of our members offering him to buy a CD they have entirely made to help support their travel.
Hearing of this, other members of our community decided to contribute by collectively making a donation.
On thursday June 13, a meeting was organised at the Maison Diocésaine in the presence of Bishop Jean-Claude Boulanger, Isabelle Berthelier, RC Diocesan Ecumenical Officer, Pascale Clerval, in charge of the Aumônerie des Etudiants and four members of the group going to Brazil, including David of course.
The students were very touched by our ecumenical gesture and Mgr Boulanger praised our small community's genuine interest and commitment in ecumenical relationships.
Our donation was presented along with this card showing Chapelle de la Miséricorde, in Caen, where we have our Services thanks to the RC Diocese kind hospitality.
It expresses our good wishes on their travel and World Youth Days experience and features 1 Corinthians quote "For we all part in the same bread".
Here are two comments of appreciation and thanks that appeared on the Aumônerie des Etudiants Facebook page.
